Road and Sidewalk Maintenance: Scheduling and Communication
Hello!
So many of The Russell For Deep River Campaign newsletter readers have reached back to me through the “Contact” button on my website and shared thoughts and concerns about the future of our Town - - - Thank You!
After high municipal taxes, and the perceived lack of communication from our current Selectmen, another common concern has been the state of our roads and sidewalks and the lack of transparency and communication around what repairs are scheduled and when the work will occur. Many of our neighbors have called the Selectman’s office multiple times with a question or complaint about a particular situation. Several have come in person to the Selectman’s office.
Others have followed up these queries with in-person attendance and questioning at the Board of Selectmen meetings, and still they don’t get a straight answer, or any answer on if or when the road or sidewalk repair is scheduled. This comes down to basic project scheduling and management, delegation, staff management, and organized communication. On July 28 th , those of us who signed up to receive municipal emails learned that work would be starting on two streets on July 31 st . What is the plan for the whole season? Are these the only town roads being repaired this year? Is any sidewalk repair planned?
As First Selectwoman, I plan to put the planning, leadership, and communication skills I learned over a successful business career to work for you. I will always listen to you, show you respect, and follow up on your issues.
Thank you for your continued interest and support of my campaign.
Warm regards,
-Katie
