About Kathryn

WHERE SHE COMES FROM

Kathryn was raised in Detroit, Michigan, attended parochial schools and graduated from the University of Michigan.  She grew up in a family with Connecticut roots on both sides. Her Dad and his parents were born in Ansonia, CT, and her favorite Aunt and Uncle lived in Deep River and had a cottage in Westbrook.  Summer vacations were all spent in Connecticut.  Katie is the niece of Emy Marvin, the former 3-term Selectwoman in Deep River and leader in the renovation of Deep River Town Hall.  Her Uncle, Reynold Lord Marvin, came from a family which had lived in the Old Saybrook Colony since the early years of its founding.

Kathryn is a dynamic and personable business professional who has worked in leadership roles with several Fortune 100 companies in New York, California and Connecticut.  She earned a Master of Business Administration from Wharton.

Kathryn has owned her home in Deep River for over 20 years. For many years, she commuted back and forth to New York City where she worked. She has lived full-time in Deep River for several years, and has become deeply involved in Town life: serving on the Deep River Public Library Board, the Deep River Rotary, the task force shaping Deep River’s Affordable Housing Plan, on the Investment Committee of the Deep River Congregational Church, and volunteering at the Shoreline Soup Kitchen. She has been a member of the Deep River Congregational Church since 2004.
